Philadelphia, “The City of Brotherly Love.” The fifth largest city in the United States. Founded by William Penn, it was under construction by 1682. The capital of the United States from 1776 to 1800, evidence of Philadelphia’s colonial heritage is visible everywhere. 

Be sure to troll along its old streets and visit its restored colonial houses. See the University of Pennsylvania, founded by Benjamin Franklin, Philadelphia’s most famous citizen. Philadelphia is noted as a strong educational, research, and industrial center.
